Emerson Chevrolet Presents The 2017 Chevrolet Colorado Crew Cab Work Truck 4WD 3.6L V6 The Toughest Tool in Maine’s Toolbox.

There’s a reason you still see more 2017 Colorado Crew Cabs on job sites, logging roads, and boat launches than any other midsize truck in central Maine. It isn’t marketing hype. It isn’t nostalgia. It’s because this truck flat-out refuses to quit. Right now, at Emerson Chevrolet in Auburn, an elite collection of low-mileage, one-owner 2017 Colorado Crew Cab Work Truck 4WD models with the legendary 3.6L V6 has just landed—each one inspected, reconditioned, and ready to outwork, out-tow, and out-last anything else in its class.

Walk up to one of these Colorados and you’ll feel the difference immediately. The stance is pure purpose: boxed steel frame, massive 31-inch all-terrain tires on 17-inch steel wheels, corner-step rear bumper, and a bed that measures a full 5 feet long with the tailgate up—74 inches when you drop it down. Spray-in bedliner, tie-downs rated for 1,100 lbs each, and the available EZ-Lift & Lower tailgate mean you’re ready for plywood, pallets, or a cord of firewood before you even turn the key. Finished in Summit White, Red Hot, or Graphite Metallic, these trucks look like they just rolled off the GM proving grounds—because many of them spent their lives on scheduled maintenance plans and light-duty fleets.

Open the door and the Crew Cab swallows five grown adults without complaint. Full-size rear doors swing wide for easy loading of tool bags or car seats, while 41.4 inches of rear legroom keeps the crew comfortable from Auburn to Jackman and back. Durable vinyl flooring and stain-resistant cloth seats laugh at mud, sawdust, and coffee spills. The no-nonsense Work Truck interior puts everything exactly where a real driver needs it: big analog gauges, physical buttons for climate and 4WD, and a 7-inch Chevrolet MyLink touchscreen with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ so you can run navigation, stream job-site playlists, or take hands-free calls from the supplier without ever slowing down.

Under the hood lives the heart of a champion: GM’s proven 3.6L DOHC V6 with variable valve timing and direct injection pumping out 308 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque. Mated to a bulletproof 8-speed automatic transmission and the Autotrac® 2-speed transfer case, this powertrain delivers instant low-end grunt for pulling stumps or merging onto I-95 with a 7,000-lb trailer behind you. Switch into 4WD High on the fly, drop into 4WD Low for the muddy access road, or leave it in 2WD for maximum efficiency—the Colorado adapts faster than the weather changes in Androscoggin County.

Towing? Bring it. Properly equipped, these Colorados handle up to 7,000 lbs—enough for the bass boat, the snowmobile trailer, or the flatbed full of landscaping stone. The integrated trailer brake controller, hitch guidance with dynamic gridlines, and StabiliTrak® with Trailer Sway Control make even first-time towers look like pros. Locking rear differential, Hill Descent Control, and off-road tuned shocks turn sketchy logging trails into Sunday drives.

Every truck in this collection has passed Emerson Chevrolet’s uncompromising 172-point GM Certified inspection. We’re talking frame-up scrutiny: brakes at 70% or better, zero rust perforation, timing chain inspected, transfer case fluid fresh, and a full Maine state inspection sticker good for another year. Each Colorado receives new wiper blades, a professional detail that brings the paint back to showroom depth, and a bed detailed so clean you could eat lunch off it. We even install fresh engine air filters and top off every fluid to factory spec.

These aren’t high-mileage beaters. We hand-picked units from local municipalities, utility companies, and single-owner trades—many with under 65,000 miles and complete service histories performed right here in our GM-certified shop. You’ll find rare gems: Work Trucks with the WT Convenience Package (remote keyless entry, cruise control, rear vision camera), spray-in bedliners already installed, and even a few with the trailering package and factory tow hooks.

Why does the 2017 Colorado still dominate job sites from Lewiston to Farmington? Because it’s the only midsize truck that feels like a heavy-duty in a maneuverable package. Turn radius tighter than a full-size Silverado. Parking lot agility that slips into any spot at the Auburn Home Depot. Yet it still carries a 1,578-lb payload and tows more than most half-tons could dream of just a decade ago. Diesel who? The 3.6L V6 delivers V8 power with better throttle response and none of the complexity.

    Real-world proof:

    • Haul 1,200 lbs of gravel to the camp in Minot and still average 19 MPG on the highway home.
    • Pull the 22-foot camper up the infamous Grafton Notch grades without breaking a sweat.
    • Leave the competition stuck in the spring mud while the Colorado’s 8.1 inches of ground clearance and 4WD Low crawl right through.

At Emerson Chevrolet, we’ve been family-owned since 1969 because we sell trucks the way Maine people buy them: honest, straightforward, built to last. When you choose one of these 2017 Colorado Crew Cab Work Trucks, you get the full Emerson Advantage:

    • Complimentary loaner vehicles every time your truck comes in for service
    • Free car washes for life in our touchless wash bay
    • Priority service bays that skip the line
    • A dedicated commercial vehicle specialist who speaks contractor, not salesperson
    • Full access to our fleet maintenance programs for business owners

We know trucks are tools, not toys. That’s why every Colorado includes a complimentary Carfax report, a fresh Maine inspection, and qualifies for commercial-grade extended protection plans backed by General Motors. Our on-site finance team works with every major lender—plus special programs for self-employed contractors and small businesses—so you keep more cash flow in your pocket.

Right now, our lineup features hard-to-find configurations:

    • Extended-range 21-gallon fuel tanks for fewer stops between jobs
    • Factory bed extenders and cargo dividers already installed
    • Color-matched camper shells on select units
    • Units with the All-Star Edition appearance package for that clean, professional look

This is the truck that turned the midsize segment upside down in 2017 and never gave the crown back. The same year it earned Motor Trend Truck of the Year, NHTSA 5-Star safety ratings, and a reputation for going 300,000 miles with nothing more than oil changes and brakes.

The 2017 Colorado Crew Cab Work Truck 4WD isn’t just transportation. It’s an investment that pays dividends every day you own it. It’s the difference between finishing the job on time and finishing the job at all. It’s the truck your crew fights over who gets to drive.

Visit Emerson Chevrolet today on Center Street in Auburn and throw your tools in the bed of a Colorado that’s ready to work harder than you do. Feel the surge of the 3.6L V6. Hear the solid thunk of the tailgate closing on a bed built for abuse. Look in the mirror and see the reflection of someone who chooses capability over compromise.

Because when you drive a 2017 Colorado Crew Cab Work Truck 4WD from Emerson Chevrolet, you’re not just driving a pickup. You’re driving the standard every other truck still tries to beat.

    • Perfect as a truck, & not a (monster) TRUCK...

I decided to trade in my baby, a 10 Camaro SS/RS, for a 17 V-6 Z71 Colorado 4X4, which also allowed for the sale of my 02 Tracker winter driver. Once everything shook out - one insurance policy as opposed to two, very low mileage on the trade-in, military discount, etc., Ive got net payments of 200.00 for 60 months, on a brand-new kick-butt vehicle that gets a LOT of compliments. Laser Blue Metallic is a fantastic color. I didnt want a Silverado -- too much for me. Just needed something to tow my Coleman camper a few times a year and do some occasional cargo hauling, and this is perfect...Extended Cab, by the way - just me & the dog. The back seats are more for holding grocery bags than people. If you need them on a regular basis, opt for the Crew Cab. Great ride, but the solid rear axle does remind me on occasion (when gunning it on a turn over rough pavement) that it IS a truck. Seats are perfect for me (5ft 10in, 170#), and the power lumbar and multi-option seat heat are a improvement over my Camaro. My only dings on Comfort & Convenience is WHY did GM not put heated mirrors as standard across the board??? It seems they have corrected this for the 18 models. And my Infotainment system occasionally does not see my USB drive (stuffed with tunes) -- I have to turn the vehicle off, pull the key, & open the door. Upon restart all is well. ??? 8-speed transmission shifts well for the most part, upshifting in about a 1,000 RPM band under light to moderate acceleration. I get 24.5 MPG highway, and about 17.5 city - and I dont baby it.
    • Outshines Ford by a Mile......

I am a serial car trade in individual.....I was driving around a clunky jeep that had some issues so decided it was time to get back in a truck. I previously owned 2 Ford trucks and thought that's what I was going back into. After driving the Colorado....I will never be a Ford person again! The smoothness of the Colorado's drive is unbeatable. It handles better than any truck I have ever driven, personal and work. I was fortunate to get a few upgrades with it, i.e. 4x4, bed liner, rails, tint, all weather floor mats, and added my own cover. It drives better than any other car/truck I have previously owned. After a year, I am still in awe of how good of a drive it is, how good it is on highway gas mileages (especially on cruise control), and so much more. The LT 4x4 V6 version does not give you many perks on the inside however....everything is pretty basic and it still has a key. If you are okay with no frills on the inside, then there is no need to upgrade to the Z71 version (which I was not able to afford unfortunately). I would highly recommend the 2019 Colorado in a heartbeat.
    • Love This, Not So Little Anymore, Truck!

Never really liked the Colorados or its cousin over at GMC. Drove full size trucks all my life pretty much, but never really needed all the truck. When these came out a few years back they started to grow on me because they were a little bigger than the first generation. Was about to buy my 5th full size truck and started talking about these fun little trucks with my sales guy. They brought around this nice little truck (they specialized in lifted trucks or full-size OEM ,if you would) with all the accessories. Hard tonneau cover, 4x4, wheel package, LT, V6, Magnaflow exhaust, chrome trim, leather interior & a few other goodies I installed afterwards. Moves like a bat out of hell! Really fun to drive! Easily light up both back tires and get smokey pretty quick too! Perfect city truck, but also enough truck to handle the "great outdoors".
